RIP: 24/08/2020 - Bad Wurzach

Fr. Josef Reischmann was born on 30 May 1939 at Wolfegg. For his secondary studies, he went to the Salvatorian College at Bad Wurzach. Consecutively he immediately entered into the novitiate in Passau, which he concluded professing his first vows on 1 May 1954. Exactly 4 years later, after finishing his philosophical and theological studies at the University College of Passau, he professed his perpetual vows. On 29 June 1959 he was ordained priest at the school chapel of Bad Wurzach. He worked as a teacher, educator, but the biggest part of his pastoral life he dedicated to preaching as a missionary in German parishes and as a chaplain and parish priest. The last period of Fr. Josef´s life was characterized by a strong disease and a lot of pain. He died on the Feastday of St. Bartholomew, Apostle, on 24 August 2020 after a life filled with apostolic zeal.
